yargh i be going there on a school trip, along with , , , , and a couple others. not to mention we're actually flying there from halfway around the world, is that awesome or what. oh and we're actually taking off in about.. 5 hours?
but owell, the not-so-awesome bit was that we had to finish our school assignments before anyone else, or do your assignments there. i hope i can finish my 3D Animation assignment in time, damn i suck at it.
watch this space, updates coming along once we land..
EDIT 030908
WHOAAAAAAAA IT'S SEPTEMBER ALREADY?! ahem. well. we weren't in LA that long, sad to say. SIGGRAPH 08 was a real eye-opener, though imo we were a bit too young to be attending something like this, where everything's pretty technical and pretty much meant for people who knew the industry jargon. BUT it was still fun. watched how Kung-Fu Panda was made [fascinating!] and i gots the RenderMan teapot of legend!
we did manage to visit some interesting places along the way, like Arts Center College of Arts, Gnomon, and the LA County Museum of Art, and WHO CAN FORGET UNIVERSAL STUDIOS THE VIP EXPERIENCE????? /tourist mode on
food portions are pretty huge too, i'm sorry i didn't have a bigger stomach capacity for all the awesome food. and the service, which totally rocks.
thank you, people of LA. did i mention the weather's absolutely schexay? kudos to , and too, for making this trip so enjoyable.
yesssssssssssssssir. in case you haven't realized, we had our very first toy&comic convention here, with stuff like Star Wars, tokidoki, MTG, and even IFS.
was there with a buncha friends, including , , and . i wanted to pull along, but he didn't go. stupid snake. /kick
it was a bit too crowded for my liking, but hey i managed to get the limited edition be@rbricks given to the first 1000 visitors! kudos to my friends who queued early.
also managed to grab some stuff, like the IFS Redux, an IFS shirt, a signed Oriental Pepper print by , a doodoll, and free postcards from the IFS booth, with doodles on the back by and ! AWEZUMNESSSS. but now i shall have to busy myself saving up to repay my friend who was great enough to pay for me first.
i know a lot of people probably also went to the IFS booth and all, so it's not really a big deal in general, but it kinda was for me. to meet the people whom i hopefully hope to reach an equal standard with in the future.. i need to work hard. reeeeeeeeeeal hard.
also saw 's booth with a glorious Cintiq. *__* wasn't much to see after that, because i'm not into Star Wars or MTG [fans don't kill me]. the 2nd day saw cosplayers [yeah it's a 2-day thing] like.. in her awezum Kanda costume.
pretty fun con, kinda disappointing in certain areas, but oh well. maybe the next one will be even better.. looking forward to Cosfest this weekend, too bad i don't have a booth this time round. not like i could handle it anyways, what with all the shcool crap and all.
holy sheetz this be a pretty long journal entry. peace out, people.
